Second Annual
JOY DAY

A day to celebrate Christian Marriage

July 28, 1929 – July 28, 1992

It has now been almost two years since we lost Mother & Daddy (Jesse & Ola Williams). They celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary just days before their deaths.  It was an acknowledged fact that their marriage was one made in heaven, nurtured through the love of God. Their marriage was one that went through many things and was all the stronger because of their Christian faith.

Last year on July 28 we celebrated “JOY” (Jesse, Ola & You) amongst ourselves to commemorate their anniversary in particular and as a “Happy Marriage Day” in general.

We believe a celebration of good marriages and happy homes is a celebration whose time has come. There are “Mother’s Day”, “Father’s Day”, Ground Hog Day”, “Flag Day”, and “Martin Luther King Birthday Day”.  There are days for just about everything but nothing to celebrate the JOY of Christian Marriage and Home.  We choose to honor Mother & Daddy by helping others have some of the same JOY that they shared with each other.

A good marriage is rewarding unto itself and deserves to be treated with dignity and honor.

Our vision is a celebration day called “JOY DAY”. This day is not to be commercialized with gifts, flowers, cards, etc.  It is a day for the couple themselves. A  day to do something special, kind and thoughtful for each other, to really be with each other. A  day to be promoted primarily through the family and church.

Share this concept with your family, church, neighbors and friends.

Psalm 90:14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,  that we may sing for JOY and be glad all our days.

3 John 1:4  I have no greater JOY than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

Psalm 71:23 My lips will shout for JOY when I sing praise to you.  I  whom you have redeemed.
