SEVENTH ANNUAL "JOY DAY"
July 28, 1999

The meaning of the word JOY is "cheerfulness and sincere delight". Joy can be an emotion evoked by a feeling of well-being and happiness. The "JOY " of a happy marriage is worth working hard to achieve. This "JOY" is related to living the Godly walk.

Jesus tells a parable of "JOY " in Matthew 13:44

"The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and covered up: in his 'JOY' he goes and sells all that he has, and buys the field."

The man in this parable recognized the great value of the treasure. He willingly, eagerly and without hesitation sacrificed his worldly possessions to be able to purchase the field and possess the treasure. "JOY" is the quality that goes beyond expected responses and reflects a heart that is unreserved in determination to follow the commitment of responsibility of his decision.

When a man and a woman find the treasure of true love, they willing and "JOYFULLY' follow the commitment of responsibility to their marriage vows.

Galatians 5:22 enumerates the characteristics needed to fulfill this commitment.

"But the fruit of the spirit is love, 'JOY', peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control: against such things there are no laws."

"JOY DAY" is a special day to celebrate your own special "JOYFUL" marriage. It is a day of memory, a day of just doing special things together, a day, also to encourage your children in their marriages.
